To Parisians, do stay for the JO! I lived in Los Angeles (still do) for the 1984 Summer Olympics (looking forward to 2028) and had a wonderful time, going to various events and watching the Torch Relay. It was like being at a giant street party.
We were able to scoop up tickets for some of the events with lesser stakes, like the definitive battle for 8th place in basketball, but it was all definitely worth it.
If I lived in Paris, I might be tempted to stick around for the Big JO. But since I don't live there, you couldn't pay me to go and navigate the (expensive) madness.
