Hi guys,
Quick little email for a Friday:
I’m heading to New York next week.
And due to several huge incidences out of my control, I will be coming alone.
(It was meant to be a big group of friends, but it all fell through).
And I figured: I once travelled around the world solo, I bet NY would be fun too.
So, here’s where I need your help. My whole itinerary has gone out the window and now I’m the chauffeur of my own yellow cab and up for adventure.
What should I do? Who should I meet? Shall we do an Earful event?
Thursday 27th or Saturday 29th sound good to me for an event. Where could we have an event? I’ve heard Albertine’s bookshop is cool, anyone got an in?
What are some cool Paris connections? I’d be interested to compare the two cities’ highline walks, for example. Their museums. Their coffee shops.
Please, flood me with comments and emails, recommendations and invites, suggestions and warnings. I’m ready to read it.
I think I could even make an episode or two about it, perhaps something to fill some space on The Earful Everywhere podcast, which will soon launch a new season in a whole different country (please follow it on Instagram, Spotify, iTunes, etc now).
Practically, for New York, I think I’d be mad not to see a basketball game or two, so I plan to see the Knicks and the Nets on the 26th and the 28th, but otherwise, I am empty. Dates: March 26th to 30th, 2025.
So…. over to you? And New York, here I come!
The Tenement Museum in the Lower East Side is one of the more interesting off-the-beaten-path museums in New York.
Canadian here. I wouldn't set foot in that godforsaken country. All I can say is to make sure your papers are in tip top order. They're detaining Canadian travellers for basically nothing. Make sure that your phone and social media is "clean". Visit at your peril.
