Something district-defining to do in each Paris arrondissement
Here are 20 things to do in Paris, according to a top tour guide.
Bonjour! Oliver here, just jumping in your inbox to announce that a fun new podcast episode is out. In this one, a top Paris tour guide has recommended something to do in each Paris arrondissement.
But there’s a twist!
Each of his recommendations highlights something that is truly representative of that particular district.
So the 16th arrondissement, for example, is the definition of posh but used to be the French countryside. Let’s tie those together… and voila, you’ve got the home of a famous writer, complete with a beautiful garden looking over the Eiffel Tower - which is now a wonderful public museum.
Experts will know exactly which museum I’m talking about (and that’s a picture below on an admittedly grim winter day), but to know which place it is for sure, have a listen to the episode!
The idea of the pod, gimmicks aside, is for you to find 20 cool things to do in Paris while getting to know each of the districts’ personalities a little better.
The guest and expert was Bertrand d’Aleman, who runs the deluxe and award-winning travel agency My Private Paris. I’m partnering up with them this season, you’ll be hearing more about them along the way, and they’ll be taking me on some pretty epic day trips out of Paris each month.
You can hear our full chat on the podcast, embedded below. You can see the museum for the 8th arrondissement pictured above. And if you want to read through all 20 tips with pictures, here’s the link to the complete blog post via my official website.
Lastly, we’re in the process of turning our chat into a YouTube video, including clips from around Paris. We aim to publish it tomorrow (subscribe here).
That’ll do for me! Let me know what you think of the list - and if you’re thinking to get someone to make you an itinerary for your next trip to Paris and France, absolutely go with My Private Paris. I’m very happy to welcome them back on board as a partner (I’m sure many of you will remember them from a few years ago, when they featured on every single podcast episode of a season). They know Paris, you’re in good hands with them.
Have a lovely week.
Oliver
