Bucket List 2025: What to do in Paris in 2025
A new year means a brand new bucket list of things to do in Paris.
Hello and happy new year!
This is the time of year for resolutions and setting out plans for the year ahead. And this week’s podcast marked our annual Paris Bucket list - a faithful favourite amongst the listeners.
The idea, just as the last five times, was for us to list out things that we haven’t done in Paris, and that we’d quite like to “tick off” before the year ends. And hopefully, at the same time, give you a little travel inspiration too.
Listen below, or wherever you get your podcasts.
My own top-five list:
Swim in the Seine
I plan to be the first in the water when they open the Seine up to public swimmers this year. This idea was stolen from an Earful Tower member when I asked for their bucket lists for 2025. Great idea Carol!
If you’ve taken our Marais walking tour, you’ve probably heard all about the famous classical music concerts at the Saint Paul church. This is the year we’re going to go… Address: 99 Rue Saint Antoine, 75004
Dinner at Bistrot Paul Bert
A culinary Paris institution, popular amongst in-the-know Parisians. Address: 18 Rue Paul Bert, 75011
Drinks at Too Tac Tac skybar
Spectacular views from this recently-opened rooftop bar. Address: 65 Rue Bruneseau, 75013
The preserved home of French music icon Serge Gainsbourg, opened in 2023. Frequently fully booked, so reserve in advance. Address: 5 bis Rue de Verneuil, 75007
Lina’s list of things to do in Paris 2025
Catch a drag cabaret show at Madame Arthur
Spend a show-stopping evening at this drag cabaret in the fashionably bohemian Pigalle. Address: 75 bis Rue des Martyrs, 75018
Enjoy a drink with a top soundtrack at Fréquence bar
A bar serving excellent cocktails, playing great music and stacked full of vinyls - a perfect night out. Address: 20 Rue Keller, 75011
Fondation Cartier contemporary art museum
A lesser-known art museum, relocating from the 14th arrondissement to Palais-Royal this autumn.
Afternoon tea at the Plaza Athénée
The chicest afternoon tea at in a luxurious 5-star hotel. Address: 25 Avenue Montaigne, 75008
Buy Le Beurre Bordier butter at La Grande Épicerie
Let’s see what all the fuss is about. They even vacuum pack their famous butter, so it’s ideal to give as a Paris souvenir. Address: 38 Rue de Sèvres, 75007
In the episode we included a few Bucket List Bonuses:
*An overnight at Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay: A historic hotel-spa located in a nature reserve, in the countryside beyond the estate of Versailles. Address: Domaine de l'Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay, 78720 Cernay-la-ville
*Visit the Collège des Bernardins: a 13th century Cistercian college of the University of Paris. Take a guided tour and stop off at the cafe. Address: 20 Rue de Poissy, 75005
*Rock climb in a former church: One of several outposts of the popular Climbing District gyms, near Saint Lazare train station. Address: 26 bis Rue de Saint-Pétersbourg, 75008
That’s it! What’s on your bucket list?
New YouTube video
I pressed publish on our newest YouTube video 35 seconds ago! Be the first to watch it and why not leave a little like to say you’ve been?
It’s only three minutes long, and it will give you a really good look inside the Vaux-le-Vicomte chateau at Christmas time. Read more about our visit here. Thanks to Bertrand from My Private Paris for taking us.
This whole season of The Earful Tower is brought to you by My Private Paris, which specialises in tours in Paris, day trips outside Paris, and travel itineraries. See what they offer here.
Have a lovely week - I think I’ll start making some restaurant and museum reservations :)
